“I’m not letting you touch him.” That determination was back in his voice, hand wrapping around the weapon strapped to his belt. Alec could at least distract Asmodeus long enough for Magnus to get out.

He pulled the weapon from his belt, blue eyes narrowed as he took a few more steps towards the demon. Alec wasn’t the best at close combat, no. He had always preferred fighting from a distance with his bow. But if he was going to do this right, he needed to use a blade.

“You’ll have to kill me first if you want Magnus.”

“Alec, what the fuck are you doing?” Magnus spoke up, much louder than before as Asmodeus gave a soft chuckle.

“He’s very self sacrificing, Magnus. Is that why you picked him?” Asmodeus hummed, gaze flicking between the Shadowhunter and the warlock. “I’ll take your memories. Of Magnus, your family. I might even make you human instead.”
