A soft frown creased the warlock’s brow as Alec started rambling but there was a fond and amused smile on his lips all the same. But when Alec stood his frown of confusion only deepened.

“Alexander–” He started but quickly cut off once the Shadowhunter got down on one knee as eyes widened. A hand covered his mouth before he quickly started nodding, letting out a short laugh.

“Yes. Yes, of course. Oh my god, I love you so much. And the ring is beautiful, you’re beautiful.”

His face broke into a wide, bright smile. Magnus said yes. Alec hadn’t actually expected him to say yes, so this was a surprise. A wonderful surprise of course. With a shaky hand, he pulled the ring from the box and slid it onto his boyfriend’s - fiance’s - ring finger.

Alec’s hands found the warlock’s face and he pulled him down into a kiss, “You’re beautiful, Magnus. And I.. I can’t believe you said yes. Oh my god. You said yes.”

He was on the verge of tears at that point, arms sliding around Alec as soon as the ring was on his finger and welcoming the kiss. “Of course I said yes, you absolute idiot.” He laughed.

He cupped Alec’s cheeks and beamed at him as a thumb brushed over his cheek. He didn’t think he would stop smiling for months, years even. This was the best day in his life so far, he was certain of it.
