@ofcateyes Magnus couldn’t help but lean into the fingers and lips that ghosted over his skin, a pleased hum escaping the warlock as eyes fluttered closed for a brief moment or two. “Very well, thank you. Did you?” His head turned slightly then to find Alec’s lips with his own and catch them in a warm kiss. If it was possible, he felt even more in love with Alec than he did 24 hours earlier. It seemed impossible that he could love the Shadowhunter any more yet every time he surprised himself.
“getting to sleep was nearly impossible but once I did, yes.” And of course he was too excited to sleep. Too excited because the answer to his question– through tears and a few choked noises– had been yes. Why he had worried that it might not be the nephilim was now unsure. Perhaps some remaining fear about m mortality eventually coming between them. But that was pushed out of his head quickly enough.
“How does it feel?” And it could be taken two ways. The ring on Magnus’ normally well adorned fingers or the new knowledge that they were engaged. The thought sent a thrill through Alec. Reaching out, he captured his lover’s hand and brought it to his mouth kissing across the pads of his fingers.
“It feels… Right. Perfect. And I think I’m the luckiest person alive.” Magnus murmured after a moment, gaze only dropping away from Alec’s features to instead once again admire the ring. It was a truly beautiful ring, one that had become infinitely more important than any other from the moment he saw it.
“You managed to choose a gorgeous ring. I need to show everyone.” He’d already sent a few people pictures, namely those he wouldn’t see within the next few days. He was far too excited to hold back from doing so.
