“I promise I’ll let you know in future.” Magnus murmured softly, fingers distractedly tracing the runes that covered Alec’s skin. He’d known Shadowhunters for centuries but never in this way. He’d never felt for any nephilim like this and he was still fascinated. Even if he would never admit to it.
“I’ll hold you to that.” Alec yawned, eyes slipping shut again, “Are you trying to make me fall asleep again so that you can make your escape?” His tone was suspicious, but teasing as he cracked open one blue eye to glance at Magnus.
Magnus laughed softly at that, glancing up at his boyfriend. “No. I’m just… Interested in your runes.” He used to know them all thanks to living with the silent brothers but now, he only knew about half.
“I’m still going to be with you against demons. I’m pretty good with my magic. Anyway, I don’t want you getting hurt.”
